The National Union of Eritrean Women United Kingdom held its first congress in London UK

The National Union of Eritrean Women United Kingdom, held its first congress on February 09 / 2013 in London UK.The union’s representatives from Sheffield, Birmingham, London, Manchester, Coventry presented report of the activities carried out by the branch, members held extensive discussions on various issues of interest and nominated a council of members to lead for the coming year.

The congress included the participation of H.E. Tesfamicheal Gerhtu, Ambassador of Eritrea to the United Kingdom and Ireland. The Ambassador welcomed and appreciated all the efforts of Eritrean women in their role and participation for their unwavering resolve to defeat the illegal sanctions and continued efforts to this cause.

Concluding the event, the participants reiterated that the Eritrean women as always will be standing with their government and people ready to withstand any kind of conspiracy and ploys against them. They also further reiterated their part and readiness in building the nation and the transfer of social values and liberation struggle ideals to the younger generation.

The participants also further reiterated their resolute rebuff on the project for building the training center for Eritrean women in Medefera Eritrea by putting even more commitment in to making it a success.
