Eritrean Delegation Visits Juba

Asmara, 4 April 2017 – Eritrea’s delegation consisting of Foreign Minister Osman Saleh and Presidential Adviser Yemane Ghebreab met, in Juba, South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Myardit on Monday 3 April this week.

The Eritrean delegation conveyed to President Kiir a message from President Isaias Afwerki expressing Eritrea’s solidarity and support for the people and government of South Sudan.

President Salva Kiir stated that his government was ready to continue and develop its long standing cooperation with Eritrea. He briefed the delegation on developments in South Sudan and reaffirmed his government’s determination to restore peace, national cohesion and to rebuild the economy.

Foreign Minister Osman Saleh and the delegation also met First Vice President Taban Deng Gai and discussed priority areas for bilateral cooperation. Read more

Eritrea and Republic of South Sudan signed air flight agreement

Asmara, 24 June 2016 – Eritrea and the Republic of South Sudan signed an aviation agreement Today, 24 June. The agreement is aimed at expanding the direct air flight service to and from the two countries.

Mr. Paulos Kahsai, the Director General of the Eritrean Civil Aviation Authority, and Mr. Stephen Rombe, Director of Aviation Safety and Operation in Civil Aviation Authority of the Republic of South Sudan signed the agreement on behalf of their respective countries. Read more

عاد نائب زعيم المتمردين في جنوب السودان الجنرال الفرد لادو غور إلى العاصمة جوبا أمس في إطار اتفاق سلام، ما يزيد الأمل في عودة زعيم المعارضة رياك مشار الى العاصمة الاثنين المقبل. وقال غور لدى وصوله: «أنا سعيد جداً بالعودة الى الوطن. ووصل الفريق الاستطلاعي الى هنا لإعلان السلام وأتيت لأجدد التأكيد على أن السلام لا عودة عنه»، لكن غور دان اعتقال 16 من انصاره اثناء حشدهم لاستقباله، مشيراً إلى أن «السلام يعني حرية التعبير والتجمع معاً حتى اذا كنا مختلفين».
