Eritrea and Ethiopia conferred peace award

Asmara, 17 June 2019- Schengen Peace Foundation and World Peace Forum conferred the ‘Luxemburg’ Peace Award to Eritrea and Ethiopia for the 2018 initiative to promote peace and outstanding peace achievement.

The awards were received by Mr. Negassi Kassa, Eritrean Ambassador to the European Union and Mr. Grum Abay, Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to Luxemburg. Read more

Ambassador Semere Russom holds talks with Ethiopian Foreign Minister

Asmara, 27 April 2019 –  Minister Semere Russom, Eritrea’s Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, met and held talks with Ethiopia’s Foreign Minister, Mr. Gedu Andargachew, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

Foreign Minister Gedu said during the meeting that the historic peace and cooperation agreement has opened a new chapter to integrate effort for the mutual interest of the two sisterly and neighboring counties. Read more

Asmara, 15 March 2019- The Federal Democratic Government of Ethiopia and Afar and Gambella opposition movements have signed reconciliation agreement yesterday, 14 March in Asmara.

The reconciliation agreement between the FDRE and Afar opposition movement was signed by Ms. Aisha Mohammed, Minister of Defense of Ethiopia and Mr. Osman Mohammed, Deputy President of Afar region and the head of Afar opposition movement, Mr. Musa Ibrahim and head of Political Office, Gen. Government of Eritrea sends message of condolences

Asmara, 10 March 2019 – The Government of Eritrea has conveyed message of condolences to the Government of Ethiopia and to the bereaved families of the deceased on the tragic crash of the Ethiopian Airline Boeing 737 that was on scheduled flight to Nairobi and in which all the 149 passengers and 8 crew members have died.
