Eritrean national cultural troupe concludes tour to Ethiopia

Asmara, 22 February 2019- The Eritrean national cultural troupe that has been performing in various Ethiopian cities beginning from 14 February under the theme “Cultural Tour for Peace” stages its final performance at the Millennium Hall in Addis Ababa.

The performance that was attended by senior Eritrean and Ethiopian government officials, members of the diplomatic corps and invited guests was broadcast live by Ethiopian television. Read more

Eritrean senior delegation on working visit to Ethiopia

Asmara, 21 February 2019- Eritrean senior delegation comprising Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Osman Saleh and Presidential Advisor Mr. Yemane Gebreab are on an official working visit to Ethiopia.

The delegation to day, 21 February, delivered message of President Isaias Afwerki to Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Dr. Abiy Ahmed focusing on bilateral relations and regional developments of interest to both countries.

The Joint High Level Committee of Eritrea and Ethiopia also met to discuss the progress of bilateral relations and cooperation.

Eritrean national cultural troupe departed to Ethiopia

Asmara, 14 February 2019- Eritrean national cultural troupe comprising Sibrit and other legendary and young musicians and singers departed to Ethiopia today, 14 February, to perform musical concert in various Ethiopian cities.

According to Mr. Micael Teferi, coordinator of the cultural troupe, objective of the program is to celebrate the peace and friendship agreement signed and to develop cultural relations between the two countries. Mr. Micael also said that similar programs will be organized in the future.

The tour will cover the cities of Bahir-Dar, Adama, Hawassa, and Addis Ababa, from 14 – 24 February.

Eritrean cultural troupes tour to Ethiopia

Asmara, 05 February 2019- Eritrean cultural troupes comprising Sibrit and other legendary and young musicians and singers are scheduled to perform in various Ethiopian cities. According to the schedule, the group will perform in Bahr-Dar on 16 February, 17 February in Adama, 19 February in Hawassa and on 21 February in Addis Ababa. In all the performances, the Eritrean cultural troupes will be joined by renowned Ethiopian singers and musicians.

Omhajer-Humera border point re-opened

Asmara, 11 September 2018- President Isaias Afwerki and Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed officially opened today, 7 January 2019, the Omhajer- Humera border points connecting the two countries.

The Omhajer-Humera road that has been closed for 20 years is important road transporting people and goods from and to Eritrea-Ethiopia.

The event was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Osman Saleh, Presidential Adviser, Mr. Yemane Gebreab, Commandor of the Western Front, Brig. Gen. Tekle Kiflai on the Eritrean side and Dr. Debretsion Gebremicael, President of the Tigray region, Mr. Gedu Endargachew, President of the Amhara region and Gen. Seare Mekonnen, Chief of Staff of the Ethiopian Armed Forces on the Ethiopian side. Read more
