Symposium Of Ministry Of Land, Water And...

Barentu¸ 13 April 2011 – The three-day symposium of the Ministry of Land, Water and Environment in Barentu town concluded. In the course of the symposium, study papers focusing on the tasks accomplished over the past 20 years since independence, including the new land use regulations, water potentials, promoting sound ecology and climate change, among others.

The study papers highlighted that commendable work outcome witnessed in the preservation of natural resources and environmental protection, among others over the past 20 years in which the people demonstrated active participation. Read more

Symposium of Ministry of Land, Water and...

Barentu, April 11, 2011 – The symposium of the Ministry of Land, Water and Environment opened today in Barentu town. In an opening speech, the Minister of Land, Water and Environment, Mr. Tesfai Gebreslasie, that the Eritrean government’s development strategy serves the demands and aspirations of present and future generations.

Noting that the challenges affecting biodiversity and ecological balance are numerous, Mr. Tesfai underlined the necessity of avoiding negative agricultural practices, unjustified urbanization and industrial activities that expose a given nation to rapid climate change, soil erosion, desertification, inadequate rainfall and the depletion of water resources are as a matter of priority. Successful Tasks Accomplished In Proper...

Asmara, 10 April 2011- The Minister of Land, Water and Environment, Mr. Tesfay Gebreselasie disclosed that successful tasks were carried out to ensure the proper utilization and administration of natural resources by outlining distinct policies and strategies.

In an interview he conducted in connection with the Ministry’s symposium due to be held in Barentu from 11 to 13 April, Mr. Tesfay pointed out that any development plans in the country should consider not just the demands of the present generation but should rather be implemented in a manner that expands the capacity and opportunities of coming generations.
