Asmara, 10 February 2021 – Eritrean community festival in Australia was conducted enthusiastically respecting the objective situation of the COVID-19 disease and guidelines issued to control the pandemic.

The national festival that was attended by nationals from all ages featured various activities including speeches on the objective situation in the homeland and the region, the impact of the COVID-19 disease, and the measures being taken by the Government and people of Eritrea to combat the spread of the pandemic, as well as cultural performances and sports events. Activity assessment meeting by nationals in Melbourne

Asmara, 02 January 2021- Eritrean nationals residing in Melbourne, Australia, conducted 2020 activity assessment meeting on 27 December and charted out programs for 2021. At the meeting in which small number of representatives and the Charge d’Affairs Mr. Mehari Tekeste took part, Mr. Michael Abraha, head of the PFDJ organization, commended the various activities conducted by members of the PFDJ in cooperation with other national organizations including the contribution to combat the spread of COVID-19. Asmara, 09 January 2020 – Nationals residing in Australia and Sweden conducted various activities depicting their attachment with the homeland.

According to report, the Eritrean Community festival in Australia was conducted from 3-5 January in Melbourne under the theme “Resilience for Higher Progress” featuring cultural and artistic performances.

Speaking at the 20th annual festival that was attended by nationals from various cities of Australia and New Zealand as well as invited guests, Mr. Tekeste Mehari, General Consul at the Eritrean Embassy in Australia, stating that various infrastructures that can serve as springboard for lasting development were implemented in 2019 said that double fold effort will be exerted in the New Year in ensuring the development of the country and called for reinforced contribution on the part of nationals. Eritrean community festival in Australia concludes

Asmara, 17 January 2019- Eritrean community festival in Australia that was underway from 11 January under the theme “New Era for Higher Development” concludes on 13 January with enthusiasm. The 19th annual festival that was attended by nationals from all ages was featured with cultural and artistic performances, sports competitions and various entertaining programs.

At the festival seminar was also organized with a view to strengthen organizational capacity of national organizations in congruent with the new era of peace and cooperation. Read more

Eritrean Community Festival in Australia commences

Asmara, 12 January 2019 – Festival of Eritrean communities in Australia commenced yesterday 11 January in Melbourne with patriotic zeal.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival in which nationals from various Australian cities and invited guests took part, Mr. Mehari Tekeste General Counsel of Eritrea in Australia and New Zealand said that this year’s festival is unique for it is being held at the time of the unfolding peace and cooperation in the region. He also congratulated the people of Eritrea and Ethiopia. Mr. Mehari further expressed expectation that the Eritrean people will repeat the miracle demonstrated in the past in the realization of the national vision. Read more
