President Isaias holds talks with Qatari delegation

Asmara, 2 June 2011 – President Isaias Afwerki today received and held talks with Qatari delegation headed by the Secretary General of the country’s Olympic Committee, Sheik Seud Bin Abdurahman Al-Thani.

During the meeting, President Isaias noted the significance of enhancing cooperation between the two sisterly countries in the domain of sports. He further underlined the need to organize friendly matches between the countries of the region and the Middle East as it would strengthen relations among peoples. The President also commended Qatari’s cooperation in the field of sports.

Sheik Seud Bin Abdurahman Al-Thani indicated that Qatari’s readiness to enhance bilateral cooperation in sports, and that he would forward the contents of his discussion with President Isaias regarding sports to the Crown Prince of Qatar.

The high-level Qatari sports delegation headed by the Secretary General of the country’s Olympic Committee, Sheik Seud Bin Abdurahman Al-Thani, arrived in Asmara yesterday on a working visit.
