President Isaias holds talks with Emir of Qatar

Asmara, 1 July 2011 – President Isaias Afwerki and the Emir of Qatar, Sheik Hamed Bin Khalifa Al-Thaini, today conducted extensive discussion on bilateral, regional and international issues.

During the brotherly talks conducted in a spirit of understanding, the two leaders held in-depth discussion on diverse topics, especially regarding bilateral relations and future programs. Moreover, the two leaders exchanged views in detail on each program of all-round Eritrean-Qatari co-operation.

It is to be noted that President Isaias left for Qatar on a working visit yesterday. On arrival at Doha International Airport, the President was welcomed by Sheik Hamed Bin Khalifa Al-Thaini and other government officials.

In a meeting the two leaders conducted yesterday, they held discussion on developing and strengthening bilateral relations, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Following the meeting, Sheik Hamed Bin Khalifa Al-Thaini hosted lunch reception in honor of President Isaias.
