President holds talks with Rwandan delegationAsmara, 19 June 2013 – President Isaias Afwerki today received and held talks with a Rwandan delegation headed by Mr. Joseph Karemera, member of the Executive Committee of the Rwandan Patriotic Front and Chairman of the country’s Assembly.

In the course of the meeting, Mr. Joseph delivered a message from Rwandan President Paul Kagame expressing his country’s readiness to work jointly with Eritrea as regards bilateral, regional and international issues.

Stating that Eritrean-Rwandan ties and cooperation which is rooted in trying moments is a lasting one, and that the readiness of both sides to reinforce it attests to its historic nature.

Mr. Joseph on his part asserted that the people and Government of Rwanda, as well as the Patriotic Front and the country’s Defense Force deeply cherish the collaboration on the part of the Eritrean people and their leadership during the difficult moments the African state faced in 1994.

Following the meeting, Mr. Joseph Karemera told Erina that the Rwandan delegation takes satisfaction with being present here in Asmara at a time when the Eritrean people are marking Martyrs Day.
