President holds talk with Finnish delegation

President holds talk with Finnish delegationAsmara, 10 January 2014 – President Isaias Afwerki today received and held talks with a Finnish delegation headed by Mr. Pekka Haavisto, Finland’s Minister of International Cooperation.

In the course of the meeting at Denden Hall here in the capital, the two sides exchanged views on ways and means of enhancing relations of partnership between Eritrea and Finland, particularly in the domains of education, health and other spheres. To this end, they reached understanding to exert sustained effort.

As regards regional affairs, especially the current developments in South Sudan, President Isaias stressed the need to exert all possible support towards enabling that country overcome the prevailing crisis.

In the course of its two-day stay, the Finnish delegation would conduct discussion with a number of Eritrean government officials.
