Potable Water Supply Project Implemented In Embeito

Embeito, 13 June 2011-The implementation of potable water supply project in Embeito and Kodadu, Gala-Nefhi sub-zone, at cost of over 2.5 million Nakfa was inaugurated and has already began service.

During the inauguration ceremony yesterday, the Administrator of the Central region, Mr. Kahsai Gebrehiwet, indicated that the Government is taking concerted action towards expanding reliable social services in all parts of the country, especially remote areas. Noting that successful tasks have been accomplished in the region as regards ensuring potable water supply, he called on the inhabitants to make good use of the available facilities.

The modern potable water supply project involves the digging of wells, installation of water pipelines and other facilities. Besides, 4 water distribution stations have been constructed in Embeito, while one distribution station constructed in Kodadu which enabled the inhabitants to get access to running water.

The Administrator of the sub-zone, Mr. Solomon Haile, pointed out that a 10-membered committee has been set up with the task of ensuring judicious utilization and management of water resource.

The local inhabitants expressed satisfaction with the implementation of the project which would relieve them from various water-born diseases.

Embeito is located 19 km. south of Asmara.
