Popular resolve to reinforce national development amply demonstrated on Independence Day celebrations

Asmara, 24 May 2012 – The Eritrean people amply demonstrated determination to reinforce the national development drive on the basis of renewed commitment. Last evening’s enthusiastic celebrations in the streets of Asmara also featured dances and fireworks display at mid-night.

Among the citizens, Mr. Yemane Gebremedhin, Ms. Kedija Mohammed Ali, Mr. Tedros Siyum and Ms. Fireweini Habtom, highly assessed the blessing of freedom. They further stressed the need to keep aloft the banner of liberty, exert unremitting endeavors to strengthen the nation-building process and put up sustained resistance against anti-Eritrea forces.

In the same vein, Mr. Asmerom Dobol, who resides in the US, expressed deep satisfaction with the popular spirit of the celebrations across the nation.
