May 25, 2012: Eritreans Demonstrate in Washington DC

On May 25, 2012 thousands of Eritrean living in the Washington DC area amassed in front of the White House protesting the unjust and unfair sanctions placed against Eritrea.

The protestors demanded an end to the sanctions by calling on the International Community to uphold the Rule of Law. The protestors then headed towards The Capitol Hill in a procession that stretched for several blocks literally bringing the Pennsylvania Avenue and adjacent intersections traffic to a halt.

The protestors then gathered around the Capitol Hill grounds ending their march with speeches and dancing to the tune of patriotic songs.
