Eritrean Nationals In Different Countries Commemorated Martyrs Day

Asmara, 22 June 2011 – Eritrean nationals in Italy, Germany, UK and the US cities of Philadelphia and Columbus commemorated Martyrs Day with high esteem. In the commemorative event in Milan and its environs on June 19, the nationals reiterated readiness to honor the trust of martyrs.

Meanwhile, a total of 242 benevolent nationals who voluntarily took the initiative of assisting martyrs’ families contributed 142,675 Euro for the noble cause, according to Mr. Russom Gebregiorgis, the Eritrean Consul in Milan.

Eritrean citizens residing in Frankfurt and its environs, Germany, conducted candle vigil in memory of martyrs. Likewise, Eritreans in Philadelphia and the UK commemorated Martyrs Day through conducting candle vigil procession.
