Eritrean community festival in Dammam

Asmara, 8 December 2018- The three day Eritrean community festival in Dammam and its environs that was conducted under the theme “The Unwarranted Sanctions Foiled through Steadfastness and Resilience” concluded with patriotic zeal.

At the festival that was featured with various programs including the lifting of the unjustifiable sanctions that was imposed on Eritrea, Ms. Weini Gerezghiher, the Charge d’Affairs at the Eritrean Embassy in Saudi Arabia, said that this year’s festival is unique for it is conducted at the time of the peace agreement between Eritrea and Ethiopia followed by regional peace and cooperation.

Indicating that the era of peace and cooperation prevailing in the region is the result of the persistence and sacrifice of the Eritrean people inside the country and abroad, Ms. Weini expressed expectation that the Eritrean people will repeat the miracle demonstrated in the realization of the national vision.

Underlining that the secret of victory of the Eritrean people in the armed struggle for independence and in safeguarding the national sovereignty was its strong unity, Mr. Gebremeskel Kidane, Chairman of the Eritrean community in Dammam and its environs, called for transferring the noble societal values to the young generation.

The participants said that festival has significant contribution in strengthening unity of the Eritrean people and called for its sustainability.

The festival was highlighted by artistic and cultural performances and other programs.
