Cultural Program organized in connection with Golden Jubilee of Eritrean people’s armed struggle for independence

Asmara, 31 August 2011- A public program was organized highlighting the Golden Jubilee (50th Anniversary) of the launching of the Eritrean people’s armed struggle for independence.

Government and PFDJ officials, as well as a number of citizens from inside the country and abroad took part in the event held at Cinema Roma that was broadcast live by ERI-TV and Dimsti Hafash.

Various artistic presentations featured on the occasion highlighting the protracted armed struggle for liberation which the Eritrean people waged as well as the heavy sacrifices paid and the challenges overcome culminating in eventual victory.

The anniversary celebration witnessed the presentation of songs, dramas and other artistic shows portraying the popular steadfastness demonstrated against colossal acts of repression on the part of the colonial forces.
