College of marine sciences playing a vital role producing marine experts

Massawa, April 17, 2011- The Massawa College of Marine and Aquatic Sciences is playing a vital role in producing marine professionals, according to the Dean of the College, Dr. Zekaria Abdulkarim.

Noting that the main objectives of the College are to produce marine professionals in the fields of marine conservation, ship and boat repair, marine technology experts as well as conducting research related to aquatic sciences, Dr Zekaria stated that the Government has made significant investment towards the development of the collage so as to create a committed human capital in aquatic sciences.

The Dean went on to elaborate that the college is located in the port city of Massawa, thereby presenting ample opportunities for practical and theoretical learning.
During the past 3 years, it is to be recalled that a total of 594 students have graduated from the college and another batch of 187 students who are pursuing their diploma level and degree studies are expected to graduate this year.
