Asmara, 02 January 2021- Eritrean nationals residing in Melbourne, Australia, conducted 2020 activity assessment meeting on 27 December and charted out programs for 2021. At the meeting in which small number of representatives and the Charge d’Affairs Mr. Mehari Tekeste took part, Mr. Michael Abraha, head of the PFDJ organization, commended the various activities conducted by members of the PFDJ in cooperation with other national organizations including the contribution to combat the spread of COVID-19. East African countries have been especially confronted with significant challenges as they have also been overwhelmed by locust infestation, flooding and other natural disasters this past year. To deliberate on finding ways to deal with the impacts of the disasters, East Africa’s policy makers conducted their 24th meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee of Senior Officials and Experts (ICSOE) from 24th to 25th November 2020. For technical reasons, however, Osman Saleh was unable to answer the following questions until 16 October 2020. Important fundamental issues, such as the Eritrean National Service, the development of a constitution, but also current affairs such as the state of relations between Germany and Eritrea and COVID were discussed. Eritrea’s delegation visit Egypt

Asmara, 18 November 2020 – Eritrea’s delegation composed of Foreign Minister Osman Saleh and Presidential Adviser Yemane Ghebreab met the Foreign Minister of Egypt Sameh Shoukri in Cairo today. The meeting was a continuation of the regular consultations between the two countries on bilateral and regional issues .Today’s discussion between the Eritrean and Egyptian delegations was centered on bilateral trade and investment. The two sides further exchanged views regarding developments in the ongoing talks on the Renaissance Dam as well as the current situation in Ethiopia.
