Statement by H.E. Ambassador Beyene Russom, Head of the Delegation of the State of Eritrea, to the 9th Summit of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of states

It’s a great honor and pleasure to address the 9th African Caribbean and Pacific states summit from the worlds Environmental Capital Nairobi. I would like to extend special thanks to the People and Government of Kenya for the warm hospitality extended to my delegation since our arrival.

Our delegation would also like to extend special recognition to the good service of the out going ACP Secretary General Doctor Patric Gomezand the state of Eritrea thanks you earnestly for all the things you have accomplished successfully during your tenure up to its very end.

Commemoration of 40th anniversary of NUEW

Asmara, 06 December 2019- Eritrean nationals in Canada and Kuwait commemorated the 40th anniversary of the founding of the National union of Eritrean Women with various programs.

The Eritrean community members in Montreal, Canada, commemorated the 40th anniversary of the founding of the National Union of Eritrean Women on 23 November.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Alem Abay, chairperson of the union branch, indicating that the Eritrean women are repeating the heroic feat they demonstrated in the struggle for national independence and safeguarding the national sovereignty in the nation building process and called for reinforced contribution for full emancipation. Eritrea participates at International Maritime Organization conference

Asmara, 04 December 2019- Eritrea participated at the 31st Assembly of the International Maritime Organization Conference held from 25 November to 4 December in London.

Eritrea as a member state of the International Maritime Organization also participated at the election of countries to become members of the council of the organization for 2020 and 2021.

The International Maritime Organization is the highest organ responsible for maritime safety, security and pollution.

In the same vein, the National Committee in Germany held its annual meeting on 23 November in Frankfurt. The meeting was attended by 52 representatives from 14 cities in Germany. Read more

Eritrea participates at 17th Session of African Ministerial Conference

Asmara, 28 November 2019- Eritrean Ambassadors to South Africa and South African countries and Kenya, Ambassador Saleh Omar and Ambassador Beyene Russom participated at the 17th session of the African Ministerial Conference held on 14 and 15 November in Durban, South Africa.

In his statement, Ambassador Saleh Omar indicated that the Eritrean farmers are engaged in sustainable water and soil conservation activities with a view to boost agricultural production and contribute in the effort to ensure food security. Ambassador Saleh went on to say that the Eritrean Government is giving due attention to enable farmers become beneficiaries of alternative energy aimed at boosting production and productivity.
