Ambassador Saleh Omar presents credentials to President of Mozambique

Asmara, 10 December 2012 – The Eritrean Ambassador to the Republic of South Africa and southern Africa region, Mr. Saleh Omar has been appointed as the roving Ambassador to Mozambique and presented his credentials to President Armando Emilio Guebuza.

Ambassador Saleh submitted a letter conveying to the Mozambican leader President Isaias’ goodwill to the people and government of Mozambique, and explained that both countries share similar experience in the long journey of armed struggle they went through to achieve independence. Moreover, he said that he would do his level best to reinforce collaboration between the two countries in the domains of diplomacy, mining, tourism, communications and harnessing of marine resources.

President Armando indicated that he values the points presented by Ambassador Saleh, and assured him that he would extend the necessary support in the course of his tour of duty. Moreover, the Mozambican leader wished President Isaias good health and peace and prosperity to the Eritrean people.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Saleh held talks with Mr. Oledmiro Marques, the Mozambican Foreign Minister, and Mr. Renato Mutusse, the Presidential Advisor regarding ways and means of reinforcing bilateral ties.
