Ambassador holds talks with Administrator of Sudanese Red Sea region

Asmara, 14 June 2011 – The Eritrean Ambassador to Sudan, Mr. Mohammedseid Mantai, held talks with the Administrator of the Sudanese Red Sea region, Mr. Mohammed  Tahir Ela, on bilateral relations in general and the Sudanese Red Sea region in particular.

In the course of the meeting held in PortSudan, Ambassador Mohammedseid reiterated Eritrea’s readiness to reinforce the historical relations between the two sisterly countries and people.

Mr. Mohammed Tahir Ela on his part said that relations between Eritrea and Sudan, especially with the Sudanese Red Sea region is playing key role in enhancing socio-economic cooperation, and would be further strengthened.

Ambassador Mohammedseid also gave extensive briefings regarding the objective situations in the Homeland to the Eritrean communities in Gedarif, Medeni, PortSudan and Kessela.

The participants of the meeting said that the development programs implemented over the past 20 years amply demonstrate the nation’s bright future. They also voiced readiness to back up endeavors to achieve the set development goals in line with the principle of self-reliance.

Moreover, the nationals highlighted the need to strengthen community organizations in view of the crucial role they play in reinforcing national unity.
