Asmara, 16 January 2020- Eritrean nationals residing in Sudan, Kuwait, Germany and Sweden held discussions on the objective situation in the homeland and timely responsibility of nationals.

According to report, the Charge d’Affairs at the Eritrean Embassy in Sudan, Mr. Ibrahim Idris conducted seminar to nationals on the efforts being exerted to ensure social justice, the ongoing big development programs with a view to improve the living standard of nationals as well as on the objective regional and global situation. In a long interview with Asharq al-Awsat (Thursday, 9th January English and Arabic editions), on the strategic importance of the Council of Arab and African States bordering the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, the Saudi Minister of State for Africa digresses from the central theme to speak about resolution of conflicts in Africa in a rather deprecating tone.

In this context, the official alludes to Saudi Arabia’s “efforts to resolve differences between brothers in Africa”.  He then proceeds to assert: “the Kingdom has harnessed its pioneering Islamic role in this regard… the first result of those was the historic peace agreement between Ethiopia and Eritrea”. Joint Communiqué on the Visit of the President of Somalia H. E. Mohammed Abdullahi Mohammed to Eritrea

At the official invitation of H. E. President Isaias Afwerki, H. E. Mohammed Abdullahi Mohammed, President of Somalia, visited Eritrea from 10-11 January, 2020. During the visit, the two leaders held frank and extensive talks on bilateral relations and regional matters of common interest.

The two Presidents noted with satisfaction the robust growth in bilateral cooperation since the signing of their Joint Declaration on Friendship and Comprehensive Cooperation on July 29, 2018 in Asmara.

The two Heads of State also appreciated the progress in the cooperation between Eritrea, Ethiopia and Somalia based on their Tripartite Agreement of September 2018. Read more

President of Somalia on working visit in Eritrea

Asmara 10 January 2019 – President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed of the Federal Republic of Somalia arrived in mid morning hours of today, 10 January for two-day working visit in Eritrea.

Upon arrival at the Asmara International Airport, President Mohamed and his delegation were accorded warm welcome by President Isaias Afwerki.

President Isaias Afwerki and President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed in their first meeting at State House held extensive discussion on the progress of bilateral ties as well as regional issues of vital interest to both countries. Read more
