Discussion forum by Eritrean and Sudanese Friendship Association

Asmara, 30 January 2020- The Eritrean Embassy in the Sudan in cooperation with the Eritrean Sudanese Peoples Friendship Association organized discussion forum focusing on the development of relations and cooperation between the two peoples.

The discussion forum was attended by officials, intellectuals, journalists and interested Sudanese as well as members of the Eritrean community.

Indicating that various programs are being worked out aimed at strengthening the relationship and cooperation between the two peoples, the Charge d’Affairs at the Eritrean Embassy in Sudan, Mr. Ibrahim Idris said that the discussion forum will have significant contribution to that effect. Asmara, 30 January 2020 – At an event the German branch of the National Union of Eritrean Women organized in connection with the International Day of the Disabled contributed over 19,600 Euros in support of the National Association of Eritrean War Disabled Veterans.

The National Union of Eritrean Women branch in the UK also conducted annual activity assessment meeting on 25 January in Birmingham. Read more

Somali President visits port city of Massawa

Asmara, 28 January 2020- President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed of the Federal Republic of Somalia and his delegation accompanied by President Isaias Afwerki visited that port city of Massawa.

The facilities that President Mohamed visited include the port, Tin and Poli-Plastic factory as well as various areas in the port city.Mr. Osman Saleh, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Presidential Adviser Mr. Yemane Gebreab attended the program. President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed returned home from the Massawa International Airport concluding two-day working visit in Eritrea.

Urge for enhanced awareness on Coronavirus

Asmara, 29 January 2020- The Ministry of Heath urges citizens to enhance awareness on the Novel Coronavirus that was detected in the Chinese city of Wuhan in 2019 and that is spreading into many countries.

Speaking to Erina, Dr. Andebrhan Tesfatsion said that the Coronavirus causes severe acute respiratory infection and there is no specific cure or vaccine. Dr. Andebrhan indicated that the common symptoms of the disease are headache, malaise, runny nose, cough or sore throat and muscle pain among others. Read more

Asmara, 27 January 2020- The Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Dr. Abiy Ahmed arrives in Asmara in the evening hours of yesterday, 27 January for a working visit.
