Commemorations of 40th anniversary of founding of NUEW

Asmara, 22 November 2019-The National Union of Eritrean Women branches in various countries commemorated the 40th anniversary of the founding of the union.

The Demmam branch of the union enthusiastically celebrated the 40th anniversary of the founding of the union in the presence of Ms. Tekea Tesfamicael, President of the NUEW and Ms. Weini Gerezghier, Charge d’Affairs at the Eritrean Embassy in Saudi Arabia.

At the event, Ms. Tekea gave briefing focusing on the struggle the Eritrean women conducted in the past 40 years in realizing the national independence and safeguarding the national sovereignty as well as their contribution and participation in the national development drives. Read more

Asmara, 21 November 2019- The 22nd annual Eritrean community festival in Riyadh and its environs was officially opened on 20 November by Mr. Osman Saleh, Minster of Foreign Affairs.

The opening ceremony in which Ms. Tekea Tesfamicael, President of the NUEW took part was featured by performances depicting the culture and tradition of the Eritrean ethnic groups as well as photo exhibition of the historical and art-deco buildings of Asmara, innovation and creativity as well as entertainment programs by students of the Eritrean International School. Seminar to festival participants in Jeddah

Asmara, 16 November 2019- Mr. Osman Saleh, Minister of Foreign Affairs, conducted seminar to the participants of the Eritrean community festival in Jeddah and its environs on the objective situation in the homeland and regional developments as well as on the charted out national development program with a view to improve the livelihoods of citizens.

Indicating that the peace and friendship agreement signed between Eritrea and Ethiopia attests to the relentless diplomatic effort by the Government of Eritrea, Minister Osman said that the positive engagement and respect to each other will have significant contribution in the peace and stability in the region. Commemoration of 40th anniversary of founding of NUEW

18 October 2019- Commemoration event of the 40th anniversary of the founding of the National Union of Eritrean Women was conducted in Jeddah and its environs in the presence of Mr. Osman Saleh, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Ms. Tekea Tesfamicael, Presidents of the NUEW.

The event was highlighted by cultural performances and photo exhibition depicting activities by the union branch in Jeddah and its environs.

Explaining about the 40 years journey of the National Union of Eritrean Women, Ms. Tekea said that the Eritrean women have played significant role in realizing national independence and in the nation building process and called for strengthening participation for full emancipation of women.
