Asmara, 28 February 2019 – Eritrean nationals residing in Port Sudan organized a seminar on the objective situation in the homeland and the role of nationals in the national development programs.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, Charge d’Affairs at the Eritrean Embassy in Sudan, said that the Eritrean Government and people are engaged in national development endeavors and parallel with that effort is being exerted to ensure regional integration and cooperation. Read more

Eritrean delegation met and held talks with Japanese officials

Asmara, 28 March 2019- The Eritrean senior delegation composed of Foreign Minister Osman Saleh and Presidential Advisor Yemane Gebreab met and held talks with various Japanese officials on strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation.

The Japanese Foreign Minister, Mr. Taro Kono expressed Japan’s high appreciation for President Isaias’ role for peace and cooperation with Ethiopia. Mr. Kono also said that Japan welcomes the UNSC unanimous decision to lift sanctions on Eritrea and stressed that Japan stands ready to contribute to the consolidation of peace in the Horn of Africa. Senior Eritrean delegation on working visit to Japan

A senior Eritrean delegation comprising Mr. Osman Saleh, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Presidential Adviser Mr. Yemane Gebreab is on four-day working visit to Japan at an invitation of Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Taro Kono.The delegation will hold discussions with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and other Japanese officials on issues of interest to both countries.
At a reception held in honor of the Eritrean delegation under the theme “Building a Bridge between Japan and Eritrea”, Japanese officials and members of Parliament expressed Japan’s readiness to strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation between the two countries and commended the positive developments in the Horn of Africa. The Doha-based Al-Jezeera Tv Stations – both English and Arabic Channels – have been spewing false and vicious news about Eritrea this week. This is not, of course, the first time for these Channels to broadcast ludicrous allegations against Eritrea.

In the current news broadcast, Al-Jeezera alleges that “Eritrea is holding Yemeni prisoners” at the “United Arab Emirates military base in Assab”.

Al Jezeera does not provide any evidence or material proof to validate its outrageous claims. It shows satellite photos of some buildings in Assab but deliberately juxtaposes to them footage of detention centers and detainees in Yemen! This is outright and despicable dishonesty. Read more
