Asmara, 18 January 2019 – The National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students conducted 2018 activity assessment meeting and charted out 2019 program on 14th and 15th January.

In reports presented at the activity assessment meeting conducted at the Embatkala Eritrean Center for Organizational Excellence, the heads of regional branches stated that commendable activities have been exerted including on enhancing organizational capacity, on empowering and raising awareness of the youth, equipping youth centers, reinforcing contribution of youth in abroad in national development endeavors, as well as on increasing the impact of the organization on regional and international affairs and charted out 2019 action plan. Eritrean community festival in Australia concludes

Asmara, 17 January 2019- Eritrean community festival in Australia that was underway from 11 January under the theme “New Era for Higher Development” concludes on 13 January with enthusiasm. The 19th annual festival that was attended by nationals from all ages was featured with cultural and artistic performances, sports competitions and various entertaining programs.

At the festival seminar was also organized with a view to strengthen organizational capacity of national organizations in congruent with the new era of peace and cooperation. Read more

Government of Eritrea sends message of condolences

Asmara, 16 January 2019- The Government of Eritrea has condemned the heinous and cowardly attack perpetrated in Nairobi. In a letter to Ambassador Monica Kathina Juma, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kenya, Mr. Osman Saleh conveyed message of condolences to the Government and people of Kenya. Minister Osman also wished speedy recovery to the wounded.

Foreign Minister Osman Saleh expressed Eritrea’s resolve and commitment to support Kenya’s relentless all rounded effort to eradicate terrorism from its land and neighboring Somalia.

Eritrean Community Festival in Australia commences

Asmara, 12 January 2019 – Festival of Eritrean communities in Australia commenced yesterday 11 January in Melbourne with patriotic zeal.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival in which nationals from various Australian cities and invited guests took part, Mr. Mehari Tekeste General Counsel of Eritrea in Australia and New Zealand said that this year’s festival is unique for it is being held at the time of the unfolding peace and cooperation in the region. He also congratulated the people of Eritrea and Ethiopia. Mr. Mehari further expressed expectation that the Eritrean people will repeat the miracle demonstrated in the past in the realization of the national vision. Read more

Mendefera, 10 January 2019- The Southern region regional Assembly held its 18th regular meeting on 9 January in Mendefera.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Weldai Ghebre, Chairman of the regional Assembly, said that the new era of peace prospect shoulders every citizen to work hard for the national development.
