Workshop to strengthen Police cooperation in Eastern Africa
Asmara, 30 January 2019- A three-day workshop aimed at strengthening International and Regional Police Cooperation in Eastern Africa organized in cooperation with the United Nations Office on Drug and Crime (UNODC), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Eritrea, IGAD and Interpol commenced today, 30 January, at Asmara Palace.
Speaking at the opening event, Col. Mehari Tsegai, Commander of the Eritrean Police, said that no country in the world is immune from crime and that the East African region is facing with challenges and threats, including human trafficking and smuggling of migrants, drug and small arm trafficking etc. Read more

Asmara, 30 January 2019 – The National Association of Eritrean War Disabled Veterans stated that in 2018 it has received tens of thousands of Dollars worth material and monetary support from its branches in abroad.
According to report, the association has received over 66 thousand Dollars as well as medical equipments to its Optical Center, wheelchairs, medicines and other support from its branches in Sweden, Holland and Germany. Read more

Eritrean Cycling National team wins Amissa Bongo competition
Asmara, 28 January 2019- The Eritrean Cycling National Team emerged victorious at the 14th Amissa Bongo Cycling competition held in Gabon from 21 to 27 January. The Eritrean national team comprised Daniel Teklehaimanot, Metkel Eyob, Henok Mulubrhan, Biniam Girmai, Sirak Tesfom and Aaron Debretsion. Sirak Tesfom won the “King of the Mountain of Amissa Bongo” competition while Henok Mulubrahan “Best Young Rider”. Read more

Eritrea and Hungary sign Framework of Agreement
Asmara, 29 January 2019- Eritrea and Hungary today signed a Framework Agreement to enhance bilateral cooperation. The signing was done in Budapest where Eritrean delegation composed of Foreign Minister Osman Saleh and Presidential Adviser Yemane Ghebreab are on a three-day working visit to that country.
During the bilateral meeting that preceded the signing of the agreement, Hungarian Foreign Minister, Mr. Peter Szijjarto congratulated Eritrea for the peace agreement signed with Ethiopia and stated that the new developments will create very conducive environment for enhanced cooperation. During its stay in Budapest the Eritrean delegation will meet other officials and business community.
