Asmara, 27 December 2018- Mr. Semere Russom, has presented credentials to President Sahlework Zewde as Eritrea’s Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

At the ceremony held at the Genet Luul State House in Addis Ababa, Ambassador Semere delivered President Isaias Afwerki’s message of good will to President Sahlework and the people and Government of Ethiopia. Read more

President Isaias returns home concluding working visit to UAE

Asmara, 19 December 2018- President Isaias Afwerki returned home today, 19 December concluding two-day working visit to the United Arab Emirates.

President Isaias Afwerki held talks yesterday 17 December at the Abu Dhabi National palace with Sheik Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahya, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on the progress and strengthening of bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.

Asmara, 20 December 2018- The National Union of Eritrean Women Central Committee conducted two-day meeting from 17 to 18 December to discuss of the programs designed to develop socio-economic capacity of women and their participation in political activities.

Indicating the significance of increased awareness and organizational capacity of women at the time of peace prevailing in the region, Ms. Tekea Tesfamicael, President of the NUEW, said that due attention will be given in 2019 for empowering women in all sectors. Read more

The Eritrean delegation and exhibitors at the IATF are using the fair to showcase Made in Eritrea products as well as project the country as a tourist destination.

Led by Mr. Hagos Ghebrehiwet, Head of Economics Affairs, Eritrea is championing this initiative under the auspices of ‘Discover Eritrea’ Programme. Mr. Yared Tesfay, Coordinator of the programme says IATF is a great opportunity to promote Eritrea and its potential. Launching of two volumes of books

Launching of two volumes of books

Asmara, 15 December 2018 – The Proceedings of the International Conference of Eritrean Studies (ICES), held in Asmara from 20-22 July 2016, have been compiled in two volumes. The launching ceremony of the two volumes was conducted yesterday, 14 December.

During the launching ceremony that the National Institute of Higher Education and Research organized at Hotel Emba Soira in which higher government officials, representatives of UN bodies and other concerned partners attended, it was stated that Volume 1 spans 687 pages and has 30 papers by 36 authors in 11 thematic areas, and Volume 2 has 495 pages and contains 23 papers.
