Nova Airways launches flight service to and from AsmaraAsmara, 21 December 2013 – Ms. Askalu Menkerios, Minister of Tourism, today inaugurated the launching of direct flights by Nova Airways to and from Asmara-Khartoum-Juba, as well as  Kassala city. Speaking at the ceremony conducted at Asmara International Airport, Mr. Omar Mahjub, Legal Counsel of the Airways, explained that the launching of such aviation service attests to the growing relations of partnership between Eritrea and the Republic of Sudan. Asmara, 18 December 2013 – Foreign Minister Osman Saleh has reiterated to the visiting UN delegation Eritrea’s commitment towards ensuring safe neighborhood and cooperative regional environment.

He made the remark yesterday during a dinner reception hosted in honor of the delegation headed by Mr. Abdoulaye Mar Dieye, Assistant Secretary General and Regional Director of UNDP/RBA, and Chairman of UNDG-ESA Mission. Present on the occasion were President Isaias Afwerki, Ministers, PFDJ Heads, resident Ambassadors, diplomats and heads of UN agencies in the country. Read more

Asmara, 17 December 2013 – Members of Eritrean National Association branches in the UK asserted that they would mount resolve towards ensuring national interest and keeping intact societal harmony, besides voicing staunch resistance against external conspiracies.

They made the pledge at an annual meeting they held last Sunday at Birmingham city, in which the Eritrean Ambassador to the UK and Ireland, Mr. Tesfamichael Gerahtu, gave extensive briefings focusing on the objective situation in the Homeland vis-à-vis developments of popular resistance against anti-Eritrea agendas. Foreign Minister holds talks with UN delegation head

Asmara, 17 December 2013 – Foreign Minister Osman Saleh yesterday held talk with a visiting UN delegation headed by Mr. Abdoulaye Mar Dieye, Assistant Secretary General and Regional Director of UNDP/RBA, and Chairman of UNDG-ESA Mission.

In the course of the meeting at Asmara Palace Hotel, Mr. Osman Saleh gave extensive briefings to the delegation focusing on the objective situation in the Homeland and the achievements registered in various domains in general, the stance of the Eritrean government as regards human rights and human trafficking, including trading in human organs, in particular. The briefings also included the tasks accomplished pertaining to foiling anti-Eritrea agendas, including the unlawful and unjust sanctions. Read more
